WELCOME CHAPTER PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE
 

Greetings and welcome to the official website of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, Tau Xi Omega Chapter located in Hamden, CT. 

 

We are a small chapter with a big heart and have proudly served in our community for over 30 years.

​

Since its chartering in 1992, Tau Xi Omega has maintained a strong legacy of providing exemplary service to our local community and beyond. 

​

Under the leadership of our International President & CEO, Danette Anthony Reed, we remain focused on carrying out the 2022--2026 programs where service and sisterhood are the cornerstone of the organization. With the theme of Soaring to Greater Heights of Service and Sisterhood, President Reeds' administration seeks to build upon our rich legacy so that members of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated will lead on the front lines of change, education and advocacy.

Our current Program includes six initiatives. With the "Foundation Initiative" of "Strengthen Our Sisterhood", the current administration focus is designed to strengthen our bonds so that we can meet our service mission. The remaining five initiatives are the "Program Initiatives" and include:

Uplift Our Local Community
 

These initiatives are designed to improve the lives of those who we serve. Thereby advancing the mission of Alpha Kappa Alpha with excellence and underscore our commitment to sustainable service.

 

We look forward to working with new and existing community partners as well as building stronger collaborative relationships with other service organizations to maximize our outreach initiatives.
